ALEXIA MARIE.
ALEXIA MARIE is referred to by friends as a "Chic Hippie." Her designs are all about fluidity and comfort, which reflects her personal style and clothing preferences are.
Alexia is a Junior at Columbia College double majoring in Fashion Design and Dance. She started out as a dancer in a suburban town in Wisconsin, and she especially loved the glitz and glamor her performance outfits portrayed. Alexia's love for designing clothes began when she would take different parts of separate dance costumes, sew them together, and make clothes to go out in on the weekends.
As she has been maneuvering through college Alexia discovered the positivity that abounds from meditation and yoga. Because of this, she says that her goal when designing fashion is to bring together glitz, glamour, 'chic-ness', and also wearability. Alexia spends her summer attending music festivals and claims that she will not make a design if it is not something she would wear to a music festival or outdoor concert.
“I'd rather wear flowers in my hair than diamonds around my neck. --BUT I love to do both.”
